The eyes have it!

Poem Artwork

Behind that Mona Lisa smile

Is an idea, known but to you.

Scheme’s been fermenting a while,

I can’t imagine what you brew.

I won’t let tresses of flaxen gold,

Nor skin so fair bend hardened will.

But vulnerability your eyes behold,

And cobalt lasers set me a-thrill.

Windows dark as deep night winds,

Azure perfection frames your soul.

Blue contrast a soft heart rends,

Proud grandpa must play his role.

Most anything I’ll get you dear,

And enjoy your exquisite delight.

And it won’t be long, I have to fear,

All your whims will be my plight.

Do I detect a bit of mischief in those enchanting eyes? Oh, and yes...definitely a Mona Lisa smile, Leland. Is it any wonder grandpa is easy prey to this li'l darling's whims? :o) I could feel your melting heart in these descriptive verses...but that's what happens to grandparents...even great-aunts like me...

She is adorable! Isn't it wonderful to have grandchildren? Spoiling ain' allowed, it's required. Name of the game!! Methinks that there will be many another cool poem by a certain grandpa. Let's hope!
