SUMMIT OF THE OAKS
An altered forest floor . . . now, a grassy path. . .
Where oaks a line, . . . brings one’s mind. . .
Of when they hath
Of days ago, amid hovering mist
Breakdowns scattered
Of piled leaves they missed!
So, face to face, they came to terms. . .
with one even poke, to end this germ
Whereon, this natural light now, could barely warm their hearts. . .
One prayed, by God, she’d let her acorns rot!
“I can’t explain, really, how I really feel . . . ?
This perfect world is just too unreal!
We should dig our roots and transplant us now!. . .
back to, in the wild and let us bow!"
To Mother Earth!
. . . to foliage floors!
Let us call on the moss to enter our inner cores!
Mighty we stood!
. . . yes, we had our faults. . .
"Now do you understand my friend, Gestalt?"
These altered paths, we must discern!
“Does anyone here remember fern?”
"Hmm?". . . of what I thought!
Meeting, adjourned...

Little oak trees arranged like ticky tacky
Little oak trees lining pathways
And they all look just the same.
I too prefer the natural forest. Patrick
And I wonder about poor fern too.
Happy holidays Kimmy!
You and yours be blessed
with health and love and purpose!

"Tread softly," Mother Earth says, "because you tread not just on my dreams but on your own."
Timely and as always - I never tire saying it - uniquely Van Kooten.

Tread lightly on Mother Earth.
For she may spew forth her retribution.
Good message here, Kimmy.
