Fragmented, once again . . .
Left to rejoin whatever line allows . . .
From the splinters under our skin
How the sting cedes uncut the plies wield of things!
Every . . . which . . . way . . . you turn your head,
Death . . . and in the swoon air of those suffering, deadens me.
My God, have you turned yours from Haiti?
Are we to decompose here on the shore of the sea?
To settle all our past sins . . . or, are we waiting something out?
Continuing to uphold our assurance in you?
Only my eyes pace,
For I have grown weary of any divergence!
The pains of hunger, no longer, and thoughts of . . . Maybe I’ve just arrived in Hell a tad bit sooner!
Have I not endured? . . .Lord?
I sit, day after day, watching children wander
aimlessly, crying out for their loved ones
Through muddy tears smeared of hope to hear them answer . . .
I feel, feeling lost . . . knowing how it feels, over and over!
Wandering the dense, thickness . . . not of trees, but dust!
Among the rubbles, smelling of rotting flesh mixed with fresh dirt,
From where the earth gave way, and all that I have loved was sucked into
The entrance to Hell itself!
Only He who walks on water can vanquish!
Only I can suffer and live it!
Through coruscating eyes of an occasional rare smile . . .
Underneath baby faces, being teased, imagining their soiled-streaked cheeks,
Clean and meek
In fervent prayer, I prey on . . . praying on . . .
Hope will answer even once!
With Love’s sweetness and certainty . . .
Subtending all badness in these dead set whimpers . . .
Plain them to everlasting laughter! . . . God, save us!
(To those looking in . . . casus belli!
Haiti is just the beginning . . . )
I too, hope Haiti will rise from the rubble. I see more starvation and suffering as gradually, aid disappears and the reality of self sustenance reveals its ugly head.
Praying won't help bring food and water, but preying will continue until law and order of the highest principles is realized. Let us not prey....
I know this was difficult to capture in words and by camera but you did it. The title is what caught me first. I know these are the times where you should live through faith but I find myself so angry, so lost in the whys.

When a nation any nation, but then a very small nation loses more than 300.000 of its people on an earthquake that followed a devastating hurricane and rain with mud-slides, that nation don't need just our prayers but our friendly hands and all the kindness we can muster.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Praying won't help bring food and water, but preying will continue until law and order of the highest principles is realized. Let us not prey....
