This is a poem after my brother lost his battle with brain cancer and 1 year 1 month to the day, mom went home to be with him .I miss them both very much.

SIDE BY SIDE

My brother is gone he went home,
But not before he told me it was the grace of god.

He was a mean young man most of his life
I think it was because of the strife.

Abused by the father he was suppose to lookup to
It took illness to be born anew.

In my eyes Tall and handsome
I felt he was worth a Kings ransom.

In school he ran track.
Cross country to be exact.

He tried hard to be a good son
But to dad it was never enough.


My sister questions why he died so young
I believe it was to relieve the pain some.

He was an artist, a perfectionist
Seven years later he is greatly missed.

He is in heaven with mom
I am sure side by side.
Because one year later she to died.

I believe I am here to keep their memories alive
So until it is my time
I’ll continue to write
