This poem is about coping during the COVID-19 pandemic
Leaving unhappy circumstances,
Only to be engulfed in awkwardness.
No amount of preparation-
Could have prepared me for this loneliness.
Surrounded by strangers,
Reaching hopelessly for a connection.
Being pushed away by society-
To reemerge without detection.
Be careful lest you be overwhelmed,
By the multitude of fans and likes.
Stay strong young man, stay strong!
Enter into social norms…
Where the ‘it crowd’, holds the lens.
Multiple selfie shots, with PPE.

"Multiple selfish shots," is like those who spend too much time looking in the near rather than looking outward in helping others without preconception of who or what they are. For some reason that little phrase that I took the liberty of changing a bit refers to our fearless leader of this country, so busy checking his tweets that he isn't paying attention to doing right by our country.
Strength is not reassuring oneself. But making the best of whatever situation comes up and facing it with positive action rather than negative thoughts.
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
