Lord, please grant me the strength to change what I can,
The peace to accept what I cannot change,
And the wisdom to know the difference between the two.

We have everything to lose,
From this planet we abuse,
Global warming has already begun,
Most people know that more could be done,
Before beautiful species are erased,
And millions of people become displaced.

The government won't admit that it's true ,
But the evidence has begun to come into view,
Just another freak heatwave they'll say to you.
As icecaps and glaciers completely thaw through.

Saving the environment dosen't mean getting richer,
So they bin the science reports and create a false picture.
" We won't be hearing from them anymore,
So go concentrate on your nice four by four.
Oil, gold, dollars will entice,
Just don't ask who's paying the price."

As carbon emmisions and thick smoke pollute the skies,
What do we tell our children when we look in their eyes?
We had this beautiful earth but we didn't act in time?
They're it's inheritors and to destroy it - a crime.

It doesn't have to be too late, but we need to make some haste,
For there aint much time and resources to waste.
Pressure your government to do much more,
Afterall it's your vote they're scrambling for,
Did you know cars can run on renewable fuel?
Energy efficient light bulbs would make a good rule,

If people in rich countries did their best,
We could deal with this issue and help save the rest,
It's enemies we have been taught to fear,
But this other threat lurks much more near,
It is the biggest danger at hand,
Together lets fight to clean up our land.
Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Jew,
Together we are the earth's people,
We know what to do.
Love one another and act now,
For our children's sake, lets make it a vow.
