Our Language Of Love
May 31, 2025
By Rose Marie Rideout
I come from dear old Newfoundland,
Like so many more before.
It will be my birth place forever,
With a language that we all adore.
Some folks live by the water,
Overlooking the ocean & wide open sea.
I'll always love my home of Newfoundland,
It will always be so dear to me.
While most people grew up idle,
Some were mischievous & naughty you see.
While others searched for their true love,
The perfect husband or wife to be.
They'd listen to tunes on the old radio,
Pull their partener upon the floor.
Welcome all strangers to join in a feast,
Of moose meat, homebrew & more.
Many were forced to move from home,
To raise their families far away.
Longing to return to our language of love,
Where once again they can stay.
If your heart longs to travel,
For a beauty ever so full & green,
Feast your eyes towards Newfoundland,
You'll want to go back there again.
Is obvious, and as I read your words I get
a warm glow within my heart…
“ it will be my birth place forever,
With a language that we all adore.”
Your writing makes me have a yearning
to visit, from my home here in the UK…
I so enjoyed this!

I trust that your uncle Fee as well. Haven't seen any posts from him in some time. But didn't hear that he was battling both blizzards and floods, helping others out.
