Be Aware, Chose Friends With Care

So very sad for some folks we meet,
They can make us feel downright cheap.
But they're not at fault alone,
For we are guilty when we roam.

We have to listen to our inner gut,
Not to be lured into this rut.
Some seem so sweet and considerate,
Before we know it, it's way too late.

We've taken the wrong winding road,
Our coscience can't handle the load.
We back away and try to pretend,
Our heart and soul are on the mend.

Just keep those thoughts in your mind,
Don't listen to sweetness another time.
Friendship is a necessity in life,
Remember if you are a child or loving wife.

Don't take a chance to lose a love so true ,
For things you were lured to do.
You can have friends, don't ever fear,
Just be careful, be very aware.

When push comes to shove, you know what to do,
Your conscience will tell you, always be true .
How's the grass where you stand today,
Is it worth letting true love go astray.

We want to keep our dignity,
For our life is a true reality.
Make and follow our own set of rules,
Before we let others turn us into fools.

No drugs, no alcohol, no fear,
Make friends with those who really care.
Don't mistake sweetness to be used,
Through kind words, easily led and abused.

Put them behind and try to forget,
Live a life we'll not regret.
So be aware, chose friends with care,
Don't live a life full of fear.
