Yes you're a mom or maybe a dad,
A sister, brother or a friend.
Nanny or poppy they'll help
They'll hold your hand on tough days,,
They do it for you, family or friend
They'll fight to cure cancer until the end.
They'll walk through storms,
In the dark of the night,
Through the rough cold winds
and the nasty bugs that bite.
They do it for you, family or friend,
They'll fight to cure cancer until the end.
Cold, tired, damp and hungry
Arm in arm some with many tears,
With their memories and love.
Like soldiers they march on.
They do it for you, family or friend.
They'll fight to cure cancer until the end.
Some pitch tents in the damp and cold,
Taking naps but not for very long
They'll raise the money to help,
Educating others of the importance to help..
They do it for you, family or friend.
They'll fight to cure cancer until the end.
Fight, fight,fight for the right
The right to live cancer free.
I'll fight for you, you fight for me
We'll do it for all suffering.
We'll do it for family or friend.together,
We'll fight to cure cancer until the bitter end
Back in 1995-98, I rode Metrolift with a psychiatrist who had spinal atrophy and was in a wheelchair like me. A few times, we rode with his nine year-old stepson who had leukemia and was taking chemo under his care as a doctor.
Unfortunately, the boy died and his mother had a breakdown it was in the hospital for six months.
