What I Enjoy in my Life

I get up every morning at a decent time,
I look to my right and smile at my man.
He smiles back and kisses me five times,
He makes my life as easy as he possibly can.
We get up, wash, dress and ready for our day,
Breakfast is prepared, coffee on to brew,
He places his arms around me and says,
Darling, have I told you how much I love you?
He makes the bed and I clean the kitchen,
He goes about his chores tending outside,
As I start the laundry and sweep the floors,
Then I watch as he prepares for his ride.
The bathroom id done, clothes put away,
Now it's time to get on with my day,
It's time now for me to sit and rest,
To do the thing that I like best. I think for a moment and then I start,
Writing what comes from my heart.
It could be a poem or maybe a song,
Whatever I write, never feels wrong. Maybe today I'll start a new book,
About our relationship, over past years,
That would make others to take a look.
A true love story, can cause many tears,
How we've loved each other the past fifty years. Loving and respecting through every day,
Never having to go out of our way.
I love it when you take time for you,
Doing what you just love to do.
I soon watch you go through the door,
As I hear the motorcycle and it's roar.
I was enchanted by the way you expressed yourself with the ordinary joy of just living.
In the end you emphasize that it's best for loving couples to allow themselves to have time apart. So that you can do your thing…writing. And he can do his thing…riding his motorcycle. But I'm sure you rode along.
I only wish I could contribute more to our mutual relationship like your husband does to yours in the 34 years that we've been together.
