cinnamon candy apples

Cinnamon candy apples

Lined up so straight and neat 

Like bright red candy soldiers 

waiting for retreat

Every day after school 

We line up by the bakery door

counting our dimes and pennies

And change left on the floor.

Cinnamon candy apples... 

A secret recipe! 

Just one taste was worth the wait...

Oh please, save one for me!

Cinnamon candy apples

 I open up the door

 to cinnamon scents,

a tasty surprise

I can close my eyes

and still remember...

Cinnamon candy apples

sticky red happiness

on a stick..

Come hurry now!

They're almost gone...

Come bite into 

one quick!

...your poetic remembrance makes one want to try one of these spiced delights...to truly see if happiness can be found...as found as your glazed images...give meaning to spice and everything nice... with such color.

MMmmm sounds tasty... I have never had cinnamon candy apples or heard of them. I have tasted chocolate, caramel and candy apples. Thanks for the memory of waiting to bite into a delicious candy apple as a child.

I had red glazed apples but no cinnamon flavor added. Sounds delicious. Nice memories.
