on the doorstep of a dim street I sat with a perfect stranger...

on the doorstep of a dim street

I sat with a perfect stranger

we stared at the bright evening skies

and he asked me questions of the heart

then he pointed to the skies

and said, "why does it seem so peaceful at night

when the skies are bright?"

I couldn't answer.

I felt he already knew its a reflection of the soul at peace

then i turned to him and asked him

to close his eyes for awhile

and believe and just dream

he looked at me and started to cry

it was then I noticed the spark in his eyes

I asked him to understand himself

because i understood him

it was then he asked me if we have ever been,

if we have ever loved once as perfect strangers...
