I have never stopped loving the tune "A Whiter Shade of Pale." I heard it the first time at age 16 or 17. Here is a little piece I completed recently while listening to the song over and over. So, why not get the song out(dust it off?) and play it as you read this piece aloud. Tell me what happens. If nothing happens, it's okay. Tell me that too. :)
Sometimes I feel We could have made it Together, you and I, But the sacrifices would Have been too great for You, too unglorious as well Your cutting ties severely, Giving up far too much-- I would have had to give Up also Perhaps less than you, but Something anyway--some one Or thing of value, but then... Some things are meant to be, Some are not Still, I think about it At times, cannot fully Rid it from my mind-- What's left of it, rather You, that is...rid you... It was love--a love of Sorts, anyway, and there Are many, aren't there? Yes, many loves... And the feelings--when It's real, when it's there-- The truly great and noble Feelings stem from love--a Love experience--but you Know that, do you not? Just as millions All those millions who've had Love experiences--their own-- All over the world-- Some of those experiences Ending happily, others less so-- Some, maybe tragically-- Like those who've never really Loved at all--And which is Worse--having it end badly Or never having had it? God Help me to forget you, to go on To other things--positive Things like charity, sharing And caring--and if He Chooses not to, what then? The end? MY end? Sometimes It all seems to be in vain, does It not? Hold my hand-- Touch me--now--be with me In spirit since you are so far Away in miles--you can, You know, if you want-- Be here, be here with me Quietly for a while--a Short while--Let me have That sweet sensation once again-- Briefly--yes, once more-- Thank you, yes, thanks A millon times. No, a Million times plus one. Yeah, I like that better. Touch, Touch me, touch me, touch me, Touch me, touch... �

I loved my Tom a million times and one and more but God took him away. I still ponder over why, but I guess he was in such pain and God needed him in Heaven to enterain. I'll get over it eventually but now in grieving pain and writing about it on my den. Makes me feel so much better to put it in words. Good poem here your wrote and my first time reading it.
