The surface is smooth as I peer out
across the lake. At my feet lay a
pebble, aching to be pitched into
the calm waters stretched out in
front of me.

Dare I cause ripples?

I pick up the stone and toss it ...

Obsidian, the lake is, and it shatters
into a million black shards. The noise
is deafening to the ears as it cascades
in ripple effect.
