This is NOT directed towards anyone I've met here on AD
Like raindrops that burn with acid touch,
lies fall to the ground in tiny little shards
of smeltering glass. A howling wind whips
tree limbs from trunks and sends leaves
swirling about in chaos while thunder
rumbles in the distance.
It rains lies ...
They burn the skin with deceit as the
wind rips out hair with each burst of
terrible repeating laughter.
Insidious laughter ...
Mountains crumble into valleys as rivers
rise and drown unsuspecting souls in a
torrential down pour of pretense. Screams
of pain go unheard, as the winds sweep up
such sounds with invisible shovels and
carry voices to untravelled lands.
It reigns lies ...
... and I am left to rue the day he came into my life.

I've been feeling just this way about TV. When I do watch it has to be PBS. I can't stand the commercials, all of them premeditated poisonings and the people just keep ingesting it all blindly. Sometimes I think society is trying to take random factors out of the equations so that everything is neat and predictable, so that we have a clockwork world who's workings can be easily manipulated to fit the sick fantasies of those in power. It just makes me ill to think about it.
I don't think I've seen anyone describe what lies do better than you. Maybe if the people who told them actually understood the damage they do, they might not do it so much.
