Monologue at 4 AM

I’m in a state far away
of mind and

Nonspatial continuum…

Infinitesimal thought patterns
I stumble

Impossibly heavy

My bedroom a mental minefield
My body a sagging load

Left with nothing

But the sound of your
Insipid snoring

The deafening silence

The blank stare
The air conditioners incessant

Screaming

Relentless siren!
I sit docile as a pregnant whore

And now these strange thresholds

Terra incognita
Sucking away my ire

Testing my mettle

The cats will not notice
They are fat from milk

And greed

I sit, unfilled, empty
Funneled out of your

Nameless ocean your

Starless sky

The clear waves rise like
Nameless projections

Jutting and fawning at

my embarrassed ignominy –
my paucity of

neurons.
