Does Death End Existence?

So someone you loved dearly has suddenly passed away
And you’re feeling more devastated with every passing day.
Like the sands of time, this precious life just seemed to slip away
Long before you got to tell them all the things you had to say.
They are dead and gone forever
And now you’ll never see or hear
All the many wonders of them
Just the thought brings on a tear.
Like the way they made you chuckle
Even when your heart was down
Or the countless ways they showed you
They would always be around.
Ridiculous as it may seem,
Can you embrace the thought
That we’re all living in a dream
And need not be distraught
For the loved ones that we’ve lost in time
Have changed in physical form
But they still stay close beside us
Till the day we too go home
Have you ever felt a cool breeze
Out of nowhere kiss your cheek?
Seen a butterfly flutter near you
Like it’s trying to take a peek
Have you struggled with a problem
With no clue where answers lie
When a song comes on the radio
With the answer, what a surprise!
Are these all coincidences
Or could they give pause for thought
That the loved ones you believe are gone
Help when you’re overwrought?
If they loved and cared about you before they passed away
What would make them any different as they watch you day to day?
We need to learn to still the mind and open up the heart
Then listen to what soul reveals, we’re really not apart.
