I wrote this poem as a going away gift for a young radio personality friend of mine who got a promotion in another State.

Ben, Ben, Ben, my friend.
You know where you’re going,
and you know where you’ve been.
Your common sense and personality
will guide you on the path
where you’re supposed to be.
Your kindness to those of whom you meet,
shows them your soul is very, very sweet.
Your charming way,
and kidding around
causes people to laugh
and makes their day.
As you move forward toward new goals,
I hope you don’t forget friends of ole.
My prayers and hopes are there with you,
as you begin your life and dreams anew.
I know God will watch over you
and keep you safe,
in everything you do and in every way.
You treated me good from the day we met
and that goodness, I will never ever forget.
That is why I chose you to be my friend,
and I hope our friendship will never end.
Ben, Ben, Ben, my friend,
I am glad you chose me also, to be your friend.

Nice one, Judith.
He's as lucky to have you as a friend as you are to have him.
