My blood cocktail is made up up Cherokee and Irish, both have great love for the land.
Who do I look like? Where do I get my almond shaped eyes?
Why do rhythmic drums beat in my veins? Where do the answers lie?
I feel the spirit of the Proud Cherokee,
It is always restless and wants to be set free!
I thirst for knowledge, I hear whispers from the past,
I want to know where my roots lie at last.
I have aqua blue eyes that always twinkle with mirth within,
My blood is a crazy quilt, where Irish and Cherokee blend.
Rich man? Poor Man? Begger man? Thief?
Who were my ancestors? A sweet Irish Laddie or Brave Cherokee Chief?
Although I've never met them, they are a part of me,
Our branches blend to make-up, a family tree.
Bloodlines merged, mixed and the mold was cast,
Echoes, still linger, whispers from the past.

Very connected writing of your heritage. I too am Irish and Apache. My son and granddaughter have the aqua blue eyes, as his dad and her grandfather is 1/2 Cherokee

Probably you came to be because Chief John Ross was a friend of President Jackson which didn't frowned upon a Paddy taking a Squaw for his wife.
