FOR THE LADY WHO SAVORED A POEM

it is obvious, you're a romantic woman

you've been greatly blessed with
a tender heart of love and desire
of this I am sure, love surrounds you
in your words I sense your longing
love is all around you, you don't see it
but Sweet Lady, love is following you

love lives in places and in hearts
you have never recognized, love waits
for you to find it, to acknowledge it
you believe you will never be loved
you are afraid of a broken heart
but afraid of forever being alone

do you not realize what a beautiful
spirit you are? your beauty radiates
from the core of your being, outward
open your eyes to the love around you
yes, it lingers nearby, waiting for you
to believe in it and believe in yourself

maybe it's in a distant land, more likely
love dwells in one's face you see often,
hidden deep in the heart of a familiar
but you never cultivated the feelings
between you and someone also lonely
cast off fear and doubt, seek out love

it's obvious you deserve to be adored
