Poem Artwork

The sun kissed the hills with a crimson glow,

The Yangtze shimmered in yellow and pink;

The night prepared to cast its dark shadow,

Stars were going to wake ready to wink.

She was standing on the deck of the boat,

Watching the last breath of the dying sun.

I stood watching her… a lump in my throat…

Seeing… believing… she was having fun…

I felt at ease… I thought she was winning

Her battle against death, she so bravely fought,

My heart, with hope and happiness singing,

I felt relaxed and foolishly I thought

That a helping hand God would surely lend

And happiness like this could never end.

And in the end, you were disappointed. Such is the way in this world, my friend. The image that you have chosen very nicely complements you words. Love and peace,

Regis
