          Question to God.

 

We exist in a perfect Universe,

Where a perfect balance always prevails,

Like an ode writ in perfect rhyming verse,

But the meaning hid behind many veils.

 

Life evolved on Earth to perfect shapes ‘n forms,

In a profusion of great variety;

There are precise laws defining the norms,

Conforming to nature’s wise propriety.

 

But in this world we often seem alone,

Like castaways in space, floating deject’;

A “lost paradise” we often bemoan

N’ think: if this Universe is so perfect,

 

From past to present and on tomorrow…

Then why is there so much pain and sorrow?

        An Agnostic’s Prayer

 

Dear God, I do know that you don’t exist

And this little prayer you will never hear.

None the less this time I have to insist

That you clear up all that is so unclear.

 

Tell me, why did you make this bloodied Earth

And why did you make Man master of all,

Knowing all we would achieve would be dearth

And every step we make would end in fall?

 

I demand, that if we must live and toil

All sweat and blood should not be spilled in vain.

From all further bloodshed you must recoil

And from killing you must force us to refrain.

 

You can’t hide in heaven, you can’t stay aloof,

God, if you exist, give us a clear proof.

Peter,

Powerfully, thought provoking verse. The second, though, a bit confusing. Why is the agnostic praying to a God he doesn't think exist? Therefore, God MUST exist. DOES exist. :) Just my opinion is all ... LOL!
