A shy little girl, she used to be,
When we were young and carefree;
Always together, never apart;
My sister, Vickie and me.

We played with dolls together
And danced the hula in grass skirts;
Our lives were filled with wonder;
My best friend, Vickie and me.

One day we moved so far away,
Our new home was such an adventure;
So much we found to do together;
My playmate, Vickie and me.

But darkness followed us there,
And moved right in our home.
In silence we carried our pain;
All alone, Vickie and me.

Then something terrible happened,
Though I can't remember just when.
She left me to be by herself;
So lonesome was my Vickie.

For years she wouldn't let me in,
To help her with her pain;
Tormented both day and night;
So sad, my precious Vickie.

I couldn't erase her sorrow,
Or the pain that haunted her past,
So she left me one spring day;
My sweet angel, Vickie.

Now she's happy with our Lord,
Her pain's gone forevermore.
And one day soon, again we'll be;
Together, Vickie and me.
