You always mean to go back
but one day you look around and
life has passed by and you've somehow forgotten.
And you remember them for the way they were
for the way you were back then.
And one day a name, a face pops into your head
and you look back maybe even hoping they haven't
changed because maybe it would mean you haven't either.
But you read the words on the news item and it hurts
"released by the estate of..."
And then you know that time can't be granted or fooled
and sometimes people forgotten can never be found again.
