Poem Artwork

Reflected by the water's edge the brittle branch
is alive and echoes the story of how far we have come,
the One below, reflected and pushing upward, using all
the strength she never knew she had, and the One above,
swooping gracefully and touching grace, finding gentleness
he never knew to be his own.

Our lilac love alive after all these years
and so much that seemed dead to the both of us.
We are deep water and mystical earth, meeting
at the surface, not knowing what might yet be born
within this new song rising up to life as we create
Heaven's home within our mirrored hearts.

Like lightning that does no harm but merely
illuminates, expands and lightens all, releasing
all that would corrupt the purity of our shared Light
made manifest, we are lit with truth and have come
so close and heard the night's thunderous applause
reverberating in twin hearts made whole.

All turns to magic, multiplied and blossoming
into something we never even thought to imagine:
a silvery possibility so beautiful and wrapped in mystery
that we are elevated in a three-stranded spiral and
transcend all that seemed in the breath before
impossible. The world once closed off opens up.

Here where we meet again, we let it be and welcome
the preservation of all that remains: Love set free because we found
faith. We rise up and merge our shared truth into new wineskins,
pouring out hope upon the nations. For this is why I
have plumbed the depths, why you have come back to life,
why we have found our way back to beginning again.

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to
