Considering the Question

As it should by now be clear
I abhor indulgences
and suffer fools not for a moment.
Obliging and obligation
have no place in my world, only
service born of love.

To entertain another's whims
and propensity for provocation
and circusmaster antics
to achieve the accommodation
of all others and fool yourself
into believing it is a talent not a trick,
all only to sustain a world of pretense
is a thing I would not consider.

But considering the apparent
losses resulting from the repeated
failure to choose to honor
the vessel that holds the one who
sailed and prevailed through so much
and realizing reductions rampant
running in your life; seeing through
veils of division and distance you
insist upon, upon encountering
a thing outside your control...

And also keeping in mind the
offputting obtuse obsequiousness
you have been surrounded or,
more accurately, imprisoned by
as well as the general state of capitulation
and condition in a world in which you
and so many others too have chosen
to take up residence, to reside...

Given all this, still I would not give you
an inch. But the angels say, in a pinch,
pure truth, plainly delivered, will do.
So my message in a messy age, speaking
only to your soul and not the man then
or now, both of whom abandoned post
or I presume lost the thread of truth even
as they took care to make a feather bed,
is, without adieu, as follows.

Should you keep the faith and
fight the good fight and say you stand
for what is right, yet pretend not to see
pricipalities who make their home
with you and if you have not love
where love has been extended and
is all that has sustained your life,
along with the rhythm and what rhymes
and allowed you your beat in time—
if this then may I ask

What then truly remains of you?
Where in such an existance is
completion or the slightest fulfillment?
What is meant by forfeiting the life
for which you said he gave his life?
Where there is the love of God
and the love through Life created?
Yet, still you live. So, though you
may have laid the weapons down
and know now in your heart
what is right and just and true ,

Still there is more to be done, yes?
And more to do, beginning by being
in love, surrendered whole to wholeness
and a return to rest and reconsideration—
or just kind consideration for a start,
if I might add my own emphasis here.
And now, at last, a beginning; to the part
the angels have been waiting for...

No lying, no trying, no buying time
or stacking up significance and striving to be
worthy of wonder. No fancy words or favors.
No erudite explanations to plead your case.
Full presence to what is is what's required.
This and nothing more. As this would be
nothing short of miracle, I am certain
it will meet me, one way or the other,
in this life or the other. When you
were a mystic, this you knew of me,
of life, even and especially of you.

On the way today I will carry in my heart
remembrance of the finer things.
I will not tarry, nor will I count or carry
the costs of all that has unraveled.
I will not invest one millisecond in
making sure malicious motives
are revealed, for I do not revel
in another's demise. I walk on
in love and lead the way,
even if I walk alone.

What then is faith?
What then is hope?
What then is love?

Where these three are found, there is
no need for crafted conversation, for lofty
aspiration that led you astray and now to
some need (perceived) for lengthy lines of
explanation written in the dark then
scribbled through. Don't miss the boat
as you float amidst the flotsam. And—
to be clear—I do not speak necessarily
of the one I'm on. Rather, my heart
would have you see what is right there
still breathing and most precious to me
and find capacity to simply live,
to simply love, to
simply be.

Wow! What a lengthy and profound affirmation. As I read I kept thinking about a certain individual who has used much of the behavior that you have condemned in this piece.

I hope those in power by deceit read this with a careful eye.
