The Puppet

A pull on the string

and arms come to life --

feet dance to silent music.


After the play

you sit.

Unnoticed.

Collecting dust

instead of laughter.

No pull on the string

is needed

to allow tears to flow.

This tugs at the heartstrings as surely as that puppeteer's strings pull at the arms and legs of their charges. It is sad that so many people are manipulated by love and the call of the heart. Well done Becca
