Bouquets of Memory

My angel touched my shoulder today...
spoke to my soul...
and in my solace...
I welcomed his presence.

He spoke softly...
in the brightest light...
of a warm September afternoon...
reminding me...
that bouquets of memory and respect...
had been placed upon the ground...
of a tragic moment in the hearts of millions.

As tears...
made their way from my heart...
to the surface...
transporting through my visual outlet...
my angel reminded me...
of an emotion...
not so uncommon...
to all touched by this sadness.

It was the comfort of his voice...
and his assurance...
that the tears of all mankind...
would forever claim the reality...
of flowers picked too soon...
and that the waters...
of mankind's soul...
would keep them alive...
within us forevermore.

This one gave me goosebumps...in a good way. A melancholy yet hope-filled write. Your words capture well the quiet whisperings of the angels that guide our lives...if we but listen...

I know this has been said, but "beautiful" really is the first word that comes to mind when reading this. I like the comparison of how some in this world are robbed of life too early to "Flowers picked too soon," yet our soul is immortal...

Lovely sentiments, John. I do not know where I'd be if angels had not "saved" me on so many occasions. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

Regis

I hope for the survivors the knowledge of the heartache from total strangers at the suffering and the lost.
Bouquets of memory should be on every tombstone.
