This is just a fun poem, I do taunt police officers with driving right at the speed limit, but I haven't taunted them like this since for nearly a decade.
They watch me as I pass.
The speed limit is fifty-five.
My cruise is set at fifty-six.
They watch and wait for me,
Beam after beam set on me.
I count off as I pass them:
Two, four, five, seven, ten.
They watch me very closely...
Could they make it stick?
My tires could be off-size
(I checked the model myself).
My pressure could be over
(I check them every tank).
My gauge could be just off
(I timed it three miles back).
I knew they were right there.
They were waiting like lions,
Watching gazelles running past.
I smile at them as I pass on by,
Chuckling as they curse me.
Someone passes me slowly
They think the gauntlet's over:
The twelfth tags him at sixty.
I laugh loudly at the thrill
They'll watch me again soon,
I'm the gazelle taunting lions.
