I like cabbage soup, especially when it's made with carrots and tomatoes and other vegetables. Your alternate meal with the cauliflowers and the gold seal salmon sounds good too. It's never a dull moment when it comes to creativity with your meals. Great job, Sandie!
Loved cabbage and corned beef when I was a kid- was one of my favorite meals mom made. Not so much anymore. Cabbage gives me gas. Thanks for sharing your humor. Happy holidays. rlc
Yes, I was all set out to buy cabbage and I know what cabbage looks like. I have no idea when I picked up the cauliflower I thought it was a cabbage. Hahaaha!!! Beats me!!!! My mind must have gone on vacation.
Oh, I like cabbage. It is so tasty and it adds flavour to soup and meat. Cabbage soup is very tasty when you boil it with tomatoes and onions and throw in a few pieces of chicken meat to make a soup.
Also, it makes a good meaty meal when boiled with the Cottage roll (a type of pork roll that tastes like ham). When the flavour of the cabbage gets boiled into the cottage roll it would make the meat so much tastier! It makes a great meal. We usually have that with mashed potatoes and/or green beans or carrots; and of course, the boiled cabbage too.
Cabbage is one of the most basic foods there is. So inexpensive and yet so nutritious. That soup sounds wonderful but I believe when you went to buy your ingredients the cabbage was in your head. But if we opened it up, it might look more like cauliflower. ;-)

Oh, that damn moment when you thought the cauliflower was the cabbage and you brought it all the way home. Yeah, I had one of those moments too when I set out to go to the store to get one thing but only came home with another. You've described that moment so well. Great poem!
We've been eating Bonnie's turkey noodle soup for days and it's been great... today, I think I have a taste for cabbage and tomato soup... Think I'll head over to Von's to buy a head of, uh... You'r too young to forget the damn cabbage.... Cute story.
