I need to take a break from Facebook, it is too quiet for me right now. There isn't anything there to hold my interest...
Young people used to say
Facebook is for older folks.
So, I have decided to stay back
even though it has been super boring.
But now I've found some members
who are supposedly older,
quite ignorant, to the point
I can no longer tolerate it.
There's no news to read.
Nothing is exciting.
People posting, mumbling to themselves.
Nothing to see, nothing to read.
Facebook has become a giant sleepy town.
I went in yesterday, searching for
something that's worth commenting on.
Found one post, then placed my comment there.
The next thing I knew I'd got
ten thousand immature people
coming at me with their
mocking remarks for vengeance.
You'd think the place is for
older adults who are supposed to be more mature,
but in reality, I see more maturity
in the tik-tokkers than them.

I DO POST SOME VIDEOS OF MY ART FROM TIME TO TIME AND RESPOND TO CERTAIN MESSAGES OF PEOPLE I AM FAMILIAR WITH...BUT THAT'S IT. I MEAN...EVERYBODY HAS THEIR 'MOMENTS' AND AS FAR AS POLITICS ARE CONCERNED...TO EACH HIS OWN. I CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE TIME TO ARGUE ABOUT A PERSON'S PERSONAL CHOICE, JUST REAL GLAD THAT AS MESSED UP AS AMERICA IS...WE CAN STILL HAVE THE FREEDOM TO 'CHOOSE' OVER HERE WITHOUT FEARING FOR OUR LIVES. So true, I have a page, but haven't been to it for a while. Quite boring and a waste of time. I check up on friends sometimes, but nothing really exciting going on.
I have a page. But nothing more. I thought it was a place where families could interact the way the original students did when the concept was developed for college students to communicate with one another more easily.
I still go there to find pictures from my family they never send to me. That's okay. They are tied up in their busy lives and just dump that information on their pages so that anyone who wants, like me, can go and look at it.
But you sound actively engaged in some kind of discussions, like the old chat rooms. I wouldn't touch those with a 10 foot pole. You're right, they will come back at you like polecats.
There won't be any politics, as Facebook is now banning all Canadian news, and banning its members from posting any political news, or even reposting and sharing of news from any news organization or news outlet. Facebook has become one big media in Slumberland. Nothing to see, nothing to post, nothing to read.
People post things but only mumbling to themselves, there aren't many others who would respond. Occasionally, I still have friends who would console me for my COVID mishap. When I post my work, then only a handful of friends would respond. Not sure if it's worth my time in there anymore. I will miss my friends though, I think I will just step in once in a while. It's too quiet and doesn't hold any interest for me right now.
I must agree, Sandie! I couldn't bear to do the fb thing today. I don't like the negativity and anger there. Hey! You know, my friend, I'm all about peace and love. As far as the politics go, I don't engage in those types of conversations because it starts a war. I'm an Independent and I study both sides of candidates and use my BRAIN (most people think we don't have them) to decide on my own. We are leaders, not followers.

Thank you for sharing your opinion, Sandie. To me, all of social media is a melting pot of chaotic expression. I have very low expectations of it all so, I do not lose any sleep over it. I do use it to share my "poetry" and such and I use the messenger function to communicate with the "snowflakes" in my relationships, each one unique. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,
