A Winter's Day

outside's as black as coal

must leave my pit, my hole

another typical winter's day

with too many bills to pay

consider skiving, take day off

phone work, pretentious cough

important meeting, just great!

shouldn't even get in too late

drag myself from enticing bed

body's moving, brain is dead

mood's evil with spirit mean

functions ceased, crave caffeine

toward bleak darkness drive

lose fuzziness, clear head strive

gradually waken to Ozzy screech

until work eventually reach

beyond heavy clouds sun may rise

others see, give its prize

here another full day passed by

distant memory, a bright sky

to maintain the dreary norm

hometime brings another storm

mirroring morning's hated journ

darkness masks my drab return

near drained of ability to cope

only future seasons offers hope

of warm road and bright sunny day

of roaring motorbike and fast play

fight chill and evening shiver

try hot whisky and ruined liver

roaring fire, yet body still cold

couldn't be that I'm just too old!

Old cold and you got the bike blues.....lol!!

Geez wish I still had mine...but son made a good job sending it to the scrapyard!! Somer is here and all I can do now is sit and write poetry instead of taking a spin on my bike and let the wind clear my mogged brain!!

Now I am feeling the chill too....!!

Love Tinka

Giving Myself 'A' Reason For Going On by RickthePoetWarrior

A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.

Gilded Prisons by Linda Gould

Major League ballplayer Justin Moore is kidnapped from his own ballpark and transported to a foreign land. It might take high-level international negotiations to free him. Or maybe he will take matters into his own hands.
