Young and pretty, full of fun

Bouncy steps dressed for sun

No invitation does this infer

Why then do rapes occur?

Young and strong, arrogant too

Gold adorns flesh of darkened hue

Doesn’t mean some instant threat

Nothing there to fear, and yet…

Sweet young couple hug and kiss

Oblivious to all in enchanted bliss

Their love should soften us then

But doesn’t because both are men

Younger boy still at school

Street aware, no one’s fool

Why then is this lad so afraid

He feels he has to carry a blade

Those who commit such an act

Have not with evil made a pact

These weaklings show their power

Only by attacking a gentle flower

Those who judge by colour alone

Are really scared by the great unknown

And to make their acts more obscene

They seek to mask an envious green

Those that their fellow man do choose

Seem to have more than most to lose

I’ll never comprehend how they live

Still support we should happily give

Knife’s are not about the lad’s fears

More about machismo with his peers

Let us educate this poor young boy

Before he kills with his shiny ‘toy’
