There is a tiredness about me now

along with an unfulfilled  need…

like a writer who yearns to write,

but the words fail to arrive.

Gray, cold, dark… unseasonable

for this time of year. I shiver while

staring out at the rain, knowing this

is a precursor of what is to come.

Thoughts swim through my head…

yet, there is no sense in projecting

myself there…I am not the future…

I am not even the past…

I am this…

that which I am at present

and nothing more.

Yes...you are now (the present) but always remember that it is your memories and lessons learned from the past and the vision and goals you have for the future that make you what you are...and that, Dawn is what can make you into more.

It is the relativity that we often stumble on and make such a to do over. We travel in many time plains yet struggle most with the perception of tomorrow and yesterday. For they deceive our sense of the moment with tricks and deceptive ploys. I like the way you have renewed my awareness of time differentials Dawn. Love and peace to you my friend. Jon Michael

There seems to be a melancholy tone to your words. I wish that my muddled thoughts could mold themselves into poetry right now...but I fear they are like those of your first stanza right now. I hope all is well, Dawn.
May sun and warmth invade your life again. :~)

The writing, as always, is deeply personal and excellent.
I agree with your last three lines. You, dear Dawn, are
definitely NOW. -gene.

When I applied this to myself, it makes me feel a little deflated. I do want so much more than what I am now. Great exploration in this poem, Dawn. Nice work. Hugs,
Sheila

Oh, how I relate to and am enchanted by your poetry!
The struggling along, the soulfulness. It's like medicine on this gray day.
Blessings,
Christine

nothing more, perhaps, but certainly nothing less! The sum of all our parts, rainy days and sunshine, fully meditated on and garnered to launch us into whatever lies ahead. We certainly need such days as today, Dawn - and I share your canvas exactly here in Dorset! - like the healthy act of deep breathing (!!)... Therein lies some mystical and spiritual exchange, breathing out what's gone, inhaling what's to come. Just where we are... now. Love this, bless you, xx

I like this Dawn, it has a sad finality about it, an acceptance perhaps of things wished for but never received...tragic.

I saw written once that whenever we project ourselves into the past (resentments) or into the future (fear), we are alone in the world and can only feel oneness and serenity if we remain "in the moment." So I guess the philosophy of time travel is: don't do it. Nice piece Dawn. Take care.

A great pondering poem. I like the NOW! Yes even last week cannot be changed but we can learn from our past. The key is to build a future that will be full of hope that will last. Thank you Dawn.

Love, peace and blessings NOW!

It downpoured a few days here last week, took my umbrella and walked in the rain, figured, if I can't fight it, might as well join it.. and it was fun :)

Once again, the sense of NOW is manifest in your work, Dawn, and frankly it is the only place to be.
I love where you go with this and how you say it.
