time passes like shifting sand leaving only memories behind

Poem Artwork

do you remember the way it used to be

hiding behind our insecurities

we were young

we were free

we thought we could see

we knew it all

tried to do it all

now where are we

we’d take the world by storm

be together through it all

knew the way it should be

saw the way it could be

our eyes were young

our hearts untainted

wisdom left us feeling sated

now where are we

there are a few

whose faces are seen

now and then on TV screens

with names changed and past taboo

as if to say we don’t know you

as if that time for them and us

was little more than talk and fuss

yet something of that time remains

hidden deep in our domains

a time of change

beyond compare

where lions were cubs

with time to spare

sometimes when the wind blows right

i here their calling late at night

and i

remember

Looking back after a long journey through time can sometimes bring a sense of meloncholy of those thing not accomplished, but always to look ahead and keep planning for the future and don't worry about all of the what once was, nicely written....

Be always safe,

...well penned remembrance...of all the late nights danced...and the nights of now...just listening...to music of the past.
