Remembering on Mother's day; lament not for a life past

Sing to me of my youth:

when I was able to frolic through the day,

when all was an adventure

waiting to be revealed

Whisper to me of the joys of life:

when the land and nature was pure,

when I could blossom with dawn’s breaking,

waiting for the new, joyful moment

Lull me with your soulful eyes:

a kindness that prevails,

a memory not forgotten.

Then I will greet that which will come.

Above all, remember me as I was:

living my life with enjoyment

wasting not a moment given me

Your memories will keep me alive.

I saw these visions in the eyes of my mother’s photo.

This is beautiful, Jackie. What a unique way of viewing life. The last stanza summarizes how I think we'd all like to be remembered -- as those who gave their all to the best of their abilities and nothing more than that.
Great job!
Jill

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
