A rose with razor thorns that slices through the heart,
fed by a river of tears as the loneleness does start.
A single phrase softly said starts this brand new game.
Welcome to the world of love, an Exercise in Pain.

A single rose dipped in blood serves to remind us all,
of how it feels to be in love and how it feels to fall.
A single kiss in the night where stars fall like rain,
begin again this thing called love, an Exercise in Pain.

A single whisper, soft as silk, echo in your head,
But memories last longer than love, and can haunt you until you are dead.
Three little words haunt your dreams and get into your brain,
when they are spoken untrue , it's an Exercise in Pain.

The world is full of people and theres plenty of fish in the sea,
but the pain of a blood dipped rose can hurt eternally.
The world is full of people, all going slowly insane.
They have been playing with the hearts once again, an Exercise in Pain.

Love denied, love betrayed, and love with out return.
It can chill your soul like ice, but in your memory burns.
Of all the dreams of true love, what is there to gain?
While standing blindly with a blood dipped rose, in an Exercise in Pain.

When dreams of lovers pressed in tightly in a passionate embrace,
disturb your dreams of solitude and set your heart a race.
When you are loved and it's not returned and when you love in pain,
You are playing yourself for the fool in this Exercise in Pain.

It is when the pain seems to be more than you can stand.
When you see the one you love reaching for anothers hand.
Then you know the silent sound of a heart split in twain,
bieng ripped by the blood dipped rose, the Exercise in Pain.

When all is said and all is done and you softly weep,
with tearstained pillows and broken heart, one thought do you keep.
We try at love and fail at love but what we hope to gain,
is to find that special one to save us from an Exercise in Pain

In the arms of your first love,
holding each other close.
The seeds of love are then planted,
a beautiful blood dipped rose.

When love fades and tears do flow,
from the pain tearing you apart.
It is from the blood dipped rose,
and its razor thorns in your heart.

Its beauty is unsurpassed,
and it can never die.
It blooms in the times of your love,
and is watered by the tears you cry.

The blood dipped rose with razor thorns,
planted in your heart.
It can fill your life with beauty,
or it can tear your world apart.

It is said its beauty is eternal,
despite its terrible pain
The bloom is to remind you of love,
and to look for it once again.

Should the thorns surround your heart,
and tear with its terrible pain.
Remember that one day you will find the love,
to make it bloom again.

The world is full of lovers, so it seems to me,
their laughter rings like music, a joyous melody.
Each if them seems to enjoy playing life's endless game,
once again they play at love, the Exercise in Pain.

The blood dipped rose blooms again in the corners of your heart,
waiting in anticipation to tear your world apart.
To tear your soul with razor thorns, when nothing but memories reamin,
The thorns of the Blood Dipped Rose, the Exercise in Pain.

No crime is worse than betrayal, no knife can cut as deep,
the words that were once spoken, haunts your deepest sleep.
There you lay alone, wondering if you are to blame,
for anothers actions in an Exercise in Pain.

Dreams can turn to nightmares, your world can turn to Hell,
your thoughts cave in around you, and you hide within your shell,
A million types of emotion begin to plague your brain,
as you search for reason in the Exercise in Pain.

Rage is an inferno, sorrow is just like ice,
for anothers actions, you seem to pay the price.
You scream in defiance against the world again,
this is just another act of the Exercise in Pain.

A million shadows haunt your mind as you battle for sanity,
walking lost in your thoughts, dreams and memory.
Now the past is gone and things can never be the same,
as you cry in the night, due to an Exercise in Pain.

In the night you hear your heart, as thoughts race along,
wishing for a single chance to fix the terrible wrong.
A single chance to clear the board, and to make it right again,
but, alas, those aren't the rules in the Exercise in Pain.

Seconds turn to minutes, minutes into days,
as you lie wondering the reason that made you this way.
The wounds of the razor thorns, can open once again,
should you not chose to participate in an Exercise in Pain.

Life is a bitter nightmare should you chose to be alone,
left only to thoughts and pain as your mind does roam.
Life is worse if there is no one to keep you sane,
so you must play another Exercise in Pain.

There is no beauty like the petals of the rose dipped in blood,
the heartache makes it more precious when you find true love.
Then the blood is washed away, but the petals do remain,
the pure white rose of ones true love, the prize of an Exercise in Pain
