Sometimes I wonder what I could have done differently
I am so sorry I didn't give the child a simple hug I am so sorry I didn't give the child a small smile I am so sorry I didn't take the burden of that pain Onto my own shoulders I am so sorry I didn't stop for one second to say I love you I am so sorry I didn't But the point is I didn't A tear drop Heavy, fat liquid Sits on the small, helpless cheek of a child Did I put it there Did I? No Did I remove it? Did I? No Would a simple hug make it go away? Would a simple smile Make it be the only one? Would it help If I suffered too? Would it help If I cried with you? Would someone saying "I love you" Bring even a sweet innocent smile?

Tears are easily dried up with love and knowing someone cares. It is hard to keep crying when someone says it is o.k. to let go and I love you and smiles at you. Good reading and I loved this little piece. The child needs to know you love her and are with her at all times.
