Captivating day with shadows dancing,
winsome sight when birds take flight,
to happen upon wildflowers swaying,
on vacant lot with flaking foundation,
charms heart and soul with simplicity,
encircles all that's been before,
millstone wrapped around concrete dreams,
for evasive nature always reclaims,
expunges itself of rust and decay,
aimless patterns or so it seems,
to commiserate with the way of things.
