Snow has yet to arrive,
no covering for colorless grounds
or blanket of serenity,
this cold day without tranquility
wraps itself around some
unyielding plot of winter
as idyllic memories yearn for release
from this barren field
and watch for plump, white crystals
to call ever so gracefully
into tomorrow,
which, in its frigid offering,
allows for escape,
a liberator from schedule
as time hangs back-lingering
in isolation on snowy day-
while in its enthrallment
to hold our visions
of winter's sacrifice,
gives pause for quiet reflections
and questions on worldly wisdom
that brings one's own reality
into the light of day.
LOVE this- I am a snow person, can't get enough of it, and this made me wish I was watching snow fall outside my window with blankets, a cup of cocoa, and the man I love.
