*Oct. 1, 2003. Not a great poem but just thought I should post something since it has been a while.
Writers need lots of time to unwind, think and find what their inner voice feels, the expressions it wishes to crease, the words it wishes to blend, the message meant to retrieve-- the hollowness that pretrudes where time does not provide its inner food envelops writers in mental fatigue and inner bleeding and hemorrhaging-- for this is the feeling when handcuffed still from feeling good and fulfilled with lots of time to think and breath and deliver that inner message that frees and relieves.
I liked this thought: "the expressions it wishes to crease".
Although I like the word, I'm not so sure about the usuage (here) of the word "handcuff". I'm trying to understand the intent with those few lines... If you're handcuffed, you'd be handcuffed "to" something, yes? In those few lines, I read that you feel "prevented" (from) feeling good and fulfilled.
This has a solid beginning, and I do see progression in your work, J!
