It is the 4th of July and the fireworks are flying.
Underneath the bright lit sky,
The fireworks soared over high.
You stole a kiss from my lips,
Felt your hand around my hips.
A gentle kiss that was not right,
The way you held me oh so tight.
Silence in the smoky night air,
Blinded by the sparkling fire’s glare.
What did this kiss really mean to you?
I had to think quickly what to do.
Your actions they caught me by surprise,
My mind was confused and mesmerized.
Your eyes were twinkling like a jewel,
You acted like a love struck fool.
I thanked you for your friendly kiss,
Ignored the feelings of all the bliss.
Moved far away from your side,
Just wanted to run and hide.
Think I got the message through,
This girl is just not for you.
I am reading a novel like this where the man stole a kiss. Takes place in Hawaii, and the girl is confounded as to why he is kissing her, but responds back and then withdraws. Such a good write to remind me to get back to reading my novel too.
