One way to write.

Poem Artwork

Word Slide

A scent, Tweed perfume, turns over

Against another memory, hot tea in a silken china cup.

I write furiously, word after word after word,

Choosing nouns, not worrying about sense or syntax.

These two memories, like pebbles, push away,

And more thoughts cascade out,

Until the pebbles sift and shake the hill of childhood,

Unleashing at last a boulder, hard as granite,

Heavy as such things are,

After the wordslide, the writing begins.

Worst of all is when you have words organized in your head, get ready to allow them stream out the pen and......nothing! Yet other times the words a coming faster than one can write, great piece...

Be always safe,

I agree with Mary, this is great writing from beginning to end. Doesn't it sometimes make you tremble with the way words quake and shake out of our head?

Cheers,
Dan

Road Quake Tease

Exhaust fumes, truck perfume, car stall ahead motor finally turns over

Against another piece of four wheel road kill, hot tar sticks to tires

I drive furiously, inch by inch by inch. Choosing lanes, carpool, shoulder, oncoming.

Then two truckers finally push the offender out of the way and more sneak through until the free-for-all begins unleashing a torrent of pent up motorists agitated, reckless, hardheaded.

Sig Alert cancelled after 8 hours, the driving begins p

Eileen,

Very colorful metaphors. It's sounds the like the writing began before you started!
