The world seems daunting today. Maybe I should devote time to smaller goals?

Man’s colossal dreams Now merely submerged rubble Nature’s noiseless mirth.

Even through the ruble one can find expressions of the person's high expectations, soon to be cast aside for whatever reasons. It is a shame.

Haikus can be tricky and they require discipline. Your haiku is true to form and enigmatically expressive. Well done, Eileen. PS: I have an entire book of haiku and tanka poems published called "Earthrise". It is posted on AD under my books.
