For Sandra...

Finding solace from a mattress intriguing
Comforting escape from depression relieving

Comfort in its softness she clung
As a mass of “whys” from a ceiling hung

Veiled in a suspended time warp
Outside worldly events mattered not

Wrapped in protective cocoon clinging to her mattress
A peaceful dance that took no practice

Then, sound waves from a distant electric tube
Found a way to banish this blissful mood

A familiar tune from yesteryear
Resonating through shields set in inner-ear

This beat caused relaxing of even more shields
Before she knew it, toe tapping in stiletto hills

A leg, a finger, a hip, then both feet
Moved in unison to the tune of a bumping beat

Suddenly a whole body then jumped
As against a surprised wall, she did “The Bump”

Laughing and waving, with ecstatic joy
The wall, now mimicking a mistreated toy

Against the injured wall she slammed her butt
Ignored crumbling plaster, peeling paint even a skin cut…

Henceforth…
A connection with mattress now only for sleep
A breakthrough found in a yesteryear beat…

♪♫ “doing the bump… sexy, sexy, ♫Aint nothing
wrongng, if you wanna do the bump
 all night long…”♪♪

I don't know how I missed this poem -- you are a poet I am supposed to have tracking service for -- never the less, this is delightful --so very full of electric energy -- makes me want to dance -- yes indeed, keep that old mattress for sleep, the bump will do for everything else -- peace and much love to you my dear friend -- JMW
