Brief summary of Ashley and Josh:
On November 22,2002, Josh and Ashley Gleeson were reported missing. Ashley was 6 and Josh only 3. They were found in the Des Plains River in Illinois both shot by their father Patrick Gleeson who had kidnapped them.
GOD'S LITTLEST ANGELS
In Memory of Josh and Ashley
Two little tots
Whose smiling faces
Now supports and surrounds
God's loving graces;
Never would I have thought,
Two little, to be lost
Parental anguish
Custody and fighting
Imagine their cost;
Cherubic faces smiling
From a Christmas past
Forever wanting,
Playing,
Everyday of life
Happier than last;
Shells and stories
Trips to the beach
Ice cream cones and
Easter hunts and
Halloween candy treats;
Sugarplums of birthdays,
Dreams and dancing bears,
Within two little souls,
More painful than one heart
Than this poet could bare;
Sometimes I write
Tempered by a sexy muse,
Freed from my past
Exploited victim of abuse;
Upon seeing Ashley and Josh
Tears fell like Summer Rain
Sweeping me back someplace
That I'd rather not name;
Two little angels
Two little hearts
Golden In a flash
Of my minds eye;
Too little to notice
Aloft in feather softnes,
And Downy Soft Wings,
Side by Side,
Together Across Rainbows,
Unaware how high they can fly.
(((((Donna))))) This is such a beautiful tribute. It was a heartbreaking story and it pains me to think about it, but your words expressed my feelings so much better than I could have done.
