On my left is drama
On my right is fear
Behind me an ugly past
But ahead is where I stash
Thoughts wishes hopes dreams
A future that awaits
expectations so great
But ahead seems so far away
So much to leave behind
Yet much needs to be
Cause stuck in this place
Can only lead to misery
So I pray and I cry
And I wait and I sigh
And sometimes I wonder why
These feelings I hide
Cause in time they will tear my insides
So now its time to decide
Where my future lies
And yes this pain hurts inside
Of the things to leave behind
Everything I've ever known
A place I once called home
A love that has grown
But is it worth misery
To stay in a place full of bad memories
Lies deceit dysfunctionality drama pain
The same o'l thang
My reality
What am I worth to me
Should I make the escape
For a piece of mind
And a spiritual rise
Where my dreams can come true
Or stay behind and live a lie
In a place where there is no time
And my future will never arise
Just filled with crys and negativity
WHAT AM I WORTH TO ME!

Escape is the best thing to do because carrying the past only brings you down- writing has always helped em escape. This was great, I could really feel the depth of your pain.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
