Two minds that lost vitality

Aware of the curse of time

But seeing that comforting face

Gives them the ability to still smile

Cause the loves still there

Often drifting from past and present realities

Wishing the past was as present as today

Cause the thought of tomorrow is slipping away

Yet as long as they have each other they know everything is ok

They try and keep the family from worrying

Cause they’ve lived a full life

And want to spend the rest of their days happy not causing anyone any strife

Though the simple things they use to take for granite

Can no longer be done independently

They often look at one another and find strength for better living

Being together keeps them whole

Or yelling a conversation across the room cause they’ve both gone hard of hearing
