When Answers are Few and Far In-between

There are times when distance
is where we are;
miles and miles
in-between words.

It is there
you consume my thoughts

What is it about you
which holds me near?

And there are moments
when I feel you
as if you are beneath my skin
like a warming breath against a cold night.

Also there are times when you are so near
that time stands silent
yet feels
like a thousand years embraced in your arms.

Why are there miles and miles
in-between us
but yet we are never really apart?

Why is there such reservation of our hearts?

This is truly beautiful!
I can relate to every word and the emotivity expressed as I am here stateside with my children to attend to an ailing family member and my husband is in Mexico. This penning of yours has definitely touched me!

Such a beautifully expressed poem Tracey! It is very perceptive and a great query. Relationships fascinate me, they are so complex, and we never seem to get them quite right. Superb poem!Good to see you;-)
Great art!

Eileen
