This is a poem about the reflection I see when I look in my mirror.

Mirror Mirror

Tell me please if you will,

Who is this woman in my mirror?

She must live there permanently

As every time I look, she is there.

Her eyes are familiar; deep deep brown,

Same style hair as mine,

 short and straight.

But there is something different, very different

Ah, the color is gray, my hair is auburn.

The smile resembles mine, but not quite the same.

Her teeth are perfect and seem all there.

Her laugh lines appear very deep,

My smile is just the opposite from hers.

I look at the wrinkles on her face,

Her complexion dull, her skin looks old.

My face is as smooth as a wee baby,

My complexion is young, showing no age.

I keep going back to the strangers eyes.

The woman in my mirror.

Her eyes look so tired and lack luster.

My eyes are shining and full of energy.

So tell me please if you will,

Who is this woman in my mirror?

I know she lives there all the time,

I think I will go buy a new mirror.

A new mirror will show me

The young woman that I am.

Mirror bought and OH NO!

Tell me please what did that woman

do with me?

I think we have all looked in the mirror and seen a stranger looking back, and as we age it seems to happen more frequently. I look in the mirror and the 16 year old in me asks who that 50 year old broad is all the time. Sensitive subject, sensitively addressed. Lovely, provocative read. Thanks Tina.

be well and happy,
Kathy

I thought I saw a masterpiece, until i realised it was a mirror.
But yer gotta look deeper than the wrapping, and see the reflection of the soul, looking back... When I do that, my mirror's black...

One can only wonder. I look in the mirror, and I see I am getting older, too. Getting saggy in the face, see grey poppin' out in my hair. YIKES!

And my health problems don't help any!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

The hazards of aging, very well mirrored - excellent, Tina!
